How to instil a love of reading

To be able to read does not mean to love reading. The first reading skills, as a rule, do not give pleasure as they are performed at a technical level. As soon as the child learns to read consciously, grasping the meaning of words and ideas, this process begins to awaken emotions. It is important for the child to fall in love with books and not to get stuck in the technical stage of reading. There are no direct guidelines how to instill a love of reading. You cannot force a child to love this occupation. There are only recommendations. Do not make a child read if he is tired or simply does not want to. Rather, think of ways to help your child become interested in books. Praise the child for success and do not focus on mistakes. The first books for self-reading should be bright and informative. Will the child fall in love with a book or not depends on the parents too. Be sure to show that you interested that the child reads - let him read to you if he came up with the book. Be an example - read more often when the child is with you, visit libraries together. Help the child discover an interesting world of books, and, when a grown-up, he will be grateful to you.
