Is it worth scolding a child for demerit marks

Every parent wants the child to succeed in everything and bring only positive marks from school. However, not all children are given excellent marks. Some parents react to demerit marks of the child extremely negatively, lecture and even show aggression. Such practice is a big mistake. Thus, the parents lose the child's confidence, next time the schoolboy will hide this fact. And over time, the child will cease to share any other experiences. In no case be angry with the child, do not set other pupils as an example for him. First of all, a school mark is merely a figure. It doesn`t show the personal qualities of the child, so there is no point in taking it personally. Parents have to understand this fact and explain it to their children. Find out why the child received a demerit mark. If learning is hard for the child, help him to improve. If the child does not understand a topic, find the stuff that might interest him. Sometimes a demerit mark results from self-distrust. In this case, at home you should help your child present his thoughts. This method is much more effective than expressing discontent and anger.
