Teaching children how to behave in society

The older the child, the wider his circle of socialising. At the age of 7-8, a child goes to school, joins coteries, parti-cipates in various activities. He interacts with peers and adults that involves the knowledge and observance of behavioural norms. Basic ideas about good manners develop in everyday life. Set yourself as an example to demonstrate and explain, for instance, why you greeted a cashier in a store and thank her after making a purchase. Teach the child to apologize, when he is wrong, and apologize yourself, when you are wrong. Explain him that making mistakes does not make one a bad person, and your own mistakes should be admitted and corrected. Scenes from life can be examples of positive and negative behavior. Your aim is to draw the child's attention to this and explain how it should be done in this or that case. Be polite communicating with the child, and respect his opinion. Only then the child will want to be the person you want him to be.
